On February 11, 2006, the Southern Indiana Chapter of the American Guild of Organists hosted 39 students at Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza. The group was divided into two with Group A checking in at Central Christian Church, 1315 E. Spring in New Albany.

After a performance of Bach's Toccata in D Minor by Dr. Janet Hamilton, the program continued with a presentation of how a pipe organ works by Jim Miller of Miller Pipe Organ Company, Louisville, KY.

Group B met at St. John Presbyterian Church, 1307 E. Elm in New Albany. Dr. David K. Lamb performed for the group and, assisted by narrator Judy Diekhoff, played Rex, The King of Instruments. Both groups of students had time to play the churches' organs before trading places for repeats of the programs. Two lucky students won two free organs lessons. The event concluded with a pizza lunch.
