Job Listings for Organists

Shelbyville, Indiana

The First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville, Indiana is looking for a part-time organist to play for the Sunday morning 10:30 AM worship service for two Sundays each month. The two Sundays may be chosen by the organist and agreed to by the Director of Music.

The basic responsibilities include preparing a Prelude, Offertory & Postlude as well as playing for the hymns in the morning service. The selections may be classical, traditional, or contemporary. On rare occasions you may be asked to accompany the choir for their anthem. They rehearse before the morning service so an extra trip would not be required.

The organ is a 37 rank, three-manual Schantz pipe organ that was installed in 1959 and, in 2007, had some additional work done on it.

The pay is $125 per service, negotiable for experience.

This is a warm, welcoming, laid-back church with about 130 people in worship every Sunday that are looking for someone of any age or experience to join in and add to our Sunday morning worship experience. Contact Cynthia Morningstar at cbmorn@hotmail.com or 317-392-7805 if you are interested.
